COMBRETACEAE: Arjuna tree is about 60-80 feet in height. The tree of Arjuna is large, evergreen with a spreading crown and drooping branches. It is simple, grey and soft on external surface. The bark is soft, thick and of red color from inside. Leaves are like that of Guava leaves rectangle, 4-6 inch long and 2-3 inch wide, subopposite, glabrous and often inequilaterally. |

The bark is astringent, acrid, sweet, cooling, aphrodisiac, urinary astringent cardiotonic, expectorant, alexiteric and is useful in fractures, ulcers, cirrhosis of the lever, hypothesis, otalgia and hypertension.
